Description
Neither a hotel stay nor a strenuous climb—discover a brand-new way to experience Kamikochi. Immerse yourself in the heart of nature with this special 2-day, 1-night camping experience at Konashidaira, Kamikochi’s premier scenic spot, surrounded by the majestic Hotaka Mountains and the soothing sounds of the Azusa River. You are the guide of your own adventure. Pack your essential camping gear into your backpack and journey to Kamikochi with your own hands. Unlike an all-inclusive, fully arranged tour, there is a true sense of outdoor excitement that comes from carrying your own gear. [Important Notice: Gear Pickup & Access] Gear Delivery: Since items cannot be shipped directly to the campground, your camping gear will be delivered to your previous night's hotel or a nearby Yamato Transport service center for you to pick up. Access to Kamikochi: Private cars are restricted year-round. You cannot drive directly to the area. Please access by bus or taxi, and ensure you reserve your transportation in advance according to your travel schedule. Upon arrival, simply enjoy a relaxing stroll at your own pace through beautifully maintained, flat nature paths. Please note that "Konashidaira Campground" does not accept advance reservations for tent sites. We highly recommend arriving early to check in and set up your tent. The ultimate privilege of staying overnight begins after the day-trippers have left. Experience the profound serenity of dusk, a night sky full of stars, and the mystical mist of the early morning. With no hotel walls to block your view, the most breathtaking, miraculous moments of Kamikochi are yours the second you unzip your tent. Unwind from the ticking clock and let your senses align with the rhythm of the wilderness.

Tips
- Buses from Kamikochi Bus Terminal to Shin-Shimashima Station can get crowded depending on the season and time of day. Upon your arrival on Day 1, we highly recommend checking the return bus schedule and securing your ticket or timed-boarding pass first.
- Tent sites at Konashidaira cannot be reserved in advance. On weekends and holidays, the best scenic spots fill up quickly. We recommend utilizing the baggage storage at the bus terminal and heading to the campsite early to secure a good spot and set up your tent.
- Kamikochi sits at an altitude of approximately 1,500 meters. Even in mid-summer, temperatures can drop significantly at night and in the early morning. Make sure to pack warm layers, such as a fleece or light down jacket, as well as reliable rain gear.
- We highly recommend waking up a bit early on Day 2. Capturing the serene Konashidaira wrapped in morning mist, and watching the sunrise illuminate the majestic Hotaka Peaks in gold, is an exclusive privilege for overnight campers.
